Position: Education Legal Rights Attorney at Legal Aid Service of Broward County
Salary: $60,000-$65,000 (salary may be higher based on experience)
Experience: Litigation experience and background in children's law, education, psychology, or related services preferred

About the Organization:

- Legal Aid Service of Broward County (LASBC) is a non-profit pro bono law firm in Southern Florida
- Mission is to provide high-quality, free civil legal advice, representation, and education to the disadvantaged of Broward County
- More than 125 employees, including 50+ attorneys, providing free services and resources for civil legal issues
- Focus on expanding access to justice, identifying community needs, and challenging systems and laws that adversely affect the underserved and marginalized

Responsibilities:

- Advocate for children with disabilities, helping them access educational services and public benefits
- Serve both community families and children in foster care system
- Work collaboratively with other attorneys, support staff, volunteers, and community partners

Qualifications:

- Active membership in the Florida State Bar
- Experience working with low-income communities preferred
- Sensitivity to the needs of the populations served
- Ability to manage a large caseload and work in a high-stress environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus
- Willingness to work beyond standard work hours, including evenings and weekends
