Role Summary:
The State Tax Editor/Author position is an exciting opportunity for someone with expertise in state and local tax (SALT) to create valuable tax research content and tools for the Thomson Reuters Checkpoint tax research platform. This role is open on the Product/Tax Editorial team and can be located in Dallas, TX, Ann Arbor, MI, or Minneapolis, MN. The State Tax Editor/Author will use their previous experience as a SALT practitioner to provide standard state tax resources and ensure that published information is of the highest quality for tax professionals.

About the Role:
As a State Tax Editor/Author, you will have the chance to:

- Independently analyze new state and local tax legislation, agency regulations, judicial decisions, and other official materials to provide insight and guidance on state corporate and personal income taxes, sales and use taxes, franchise taxes, property taxes, and other taxes.
- Create original content and update state and local tax resources.
- Use strong writing and editing skills to produce high-quality content on state tax topics.
- Report on state tax developments on a daily basis.
- Apply state tax knowledge to answer customer inquiries.
- Write and edit content for thought leadership.
- Provide expertise and insight in various business functions, such as training AI and understanding complex tax and accounting specialties.
- Note: A writing test will be required.

- Have at least 3 years of practical experience in state and local tax, preferably in a law or accounting firm.
- Possess expertise and experience to provide editorial insight and practical guidance.

- Can anticipate and interpret customer needs to provide solutions.

Compensation:
Thomson Reuters complies with all local laws regarding upfront disclosure of expected pay for a position. The base compensation range for the State Tax Editor/Author role is $70,500 - $137,800 per year, depending on location. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is determined based on factors such as experience and internal equity. We also offer a comprehensive Total Reward program, including wellbeing programs and flexible benefits.
