# Senior Paralegal

Amentum is looking for a Senior Paralegal to join their team and provide legal analyses to address issues pertaining to the Section’s rule making, coordination, or technical assistance responsibilities. This position offers a full-time opportunity in Washington, District of Columbia.

## Responsibilities
* Conduct factual and legal research and provide written analyses to address issues pertaining to the Section’s rule making, coordination, or technical assistance responsibilities.
* Perform legal research; synopsizes transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use; reviews case related materials and identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation; writes preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence.
* May require travel for trial support.
* Become very familiar Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Act of 1991, the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008.
* Have a pleasant phone manner and the ability to interview potentially aggrieved persons about traumatic experiences in a professional, thorough, and sensitive manner.
* Perform detailed searches of court records and other public records utilizing online databases and services such as LexisNexis.
* Be familiar with methods for researching people, property ownership, and/or business entities.

## Requirements
* Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
* .
* Ability to write in a logical, persuasive, and sufficiently thorough manner.
* Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures and legal resources.
* Excellent writing skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as Lexis, Westlaw.
* Familiarity and experience with Relativity, Excel, Word, Zoom, Teams, PowerPoint, and social media research.
* Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure.

## Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience working with federal civil rights statutes.
* Will consider candidates with extensive litigation support experience coupled with Paralegal certificate.

## Salary
The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
