Kids First Law Center is seeking a full-time Children's Attorney to join their team and provide high-quality legal representation for children in family law cases. About Kids First Law Center: - Nonprofit children's law center with a mission to give children a voice in divorce, custody, and other conflicts - First law center in the United States with a focus on providing legal advocacy for children in family law cases - Committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace for all employees Position Overview: - Serve as a trusted advocate for children, building strong relationships through regular meetings - Develop creative problem-solving strategies and participate in alternative dispute resolution practices - Draft legal documents and appear in court to advocate for the child's position - Collaborate with other professionals to support child clients Qualifications: - Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and license to practice in Iowa - Family law or juvenile court experience helpful but not required - Ability to build positive relationships with school-age children - Excellent communication and relationship-building skills - Adept at working with high-conflict personalities Salary and Benefits: - Annual wage of $70,000 with egalitarian pay for all employees - Generous benefits including 6 weeks of PTO, sabbatical leave, and IRA contributions - Health insurance available with 80% of employee premiums paid by Kids First - Dental and vision insurance plans available with premiums paid by employee Application Process: To apply, please send a cover letter, resume, and list of references to Daniel Anderson at .
