## Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office - Assistant State’s Attorney (ASA) - Warrant Coordinator

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office (CCSAO) is looking to fill the position of a full-time Assistant State’s Attorney (ASA) Warrant Coordinator to join the Alternative Prosecutions (APS) Unit in Chicago, Illinois. The APS Unit works to better understand individuals that are in the criminal justice system as the result of an unmet need, particularly those struggling with mental illness and substance use disorders. The APS unit identifies and refers cases for diversion to help connect individuals to services and programs—in lieu of custody—and return to their community as healthy and supported as possible.

### Position Description:
Thousands of active warrants in Cook County contribute to arrests, holds, and a stagnant jail population. The ASA assigned to the countywide warrant reduction program will report directly to the Supervisor of the Alternative Prosecutions Unit and will be responsible for assisting with addressing the influx of new warrants by exploring opportunities to delay warrant issuance on failures to appear and on violations of probations; assisting with organizing and covering court calls countywide; addressing backlogs of old warrants associated with certain low level cases and probation warrants; collaboration and communication with court stakeholders; tracking the warrant reduction program for reporting purposes; and attending meetings and trainings.

### Minimum Qualifications:
, capable of project management, data collection, drafting motions to quash warrants and appearing in court countywide, excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate with the court and community stakeholders, engage in on-going trainings and meetings, highly motivated and reliable, possess strong leadership skills and the ability to creatively problem solve. Must be willing to travel to different locations. Must uphold the mission, vision, and values of the Office.
