Travel Required No In this role, the Income Tax Senior Manager, State and Local Tax will be responsible for providing tax consulting, compliance, and controversy services to clients. They will also be involved in business development and marketing within their area of expertise and will work with other tax professionals to provide SALT expertise to clients. The ideal candidate will have at least eight years of experience in state and local tax, a CPA certification or other relevant certification, and a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. The salary for this position will range from $95,000 to $250,000, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Key Duties: - Conduct research on complex tax issues and develop relationships with state tax authorities - Review tax returns and respond to notices from state taxing authorities - Provide tax consulting services and draft memorandums and opinions on various tax issues - Represent clients in tax disputes and utilize tax-related software in completing tasks - Specialize in multi-state companies and negotiate settlements and voluntary disclosure agreements - Prepare tax accrual workpapers and understand industry standards and firm policies related to income taxes - Develop tax strategies and suggest marketing approaches for new client acquisition - Supervise and train STS SALT Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates and provide performance feedback - Act as the primary contact for assigned engagements and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field - Master's degree in accounting/taxation or . preferred - Eight+ years of experience in state and local/multistate tax - Prior experience supervising tax professionals and preparing/reviewing tax provisions - CPA certification or other relevant certification preferred - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to tax applications and research tools - Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment - Experience in business development and marketing is a plus Salary Information: - Range: $95,000 - $250,000, depending on qualifications and experience - Individual salaries are determined after considering factors such as qualifications, experience, skills, and location About the Company: BDO is a leading global accounting network that provides assurance, tax, digital technology solutions, and financial advisory services to clients worldwide.
