Managing Attorney/Director, International Program

Earthjustice is seeking a Managing Attorney or Managing Director to lead its International Program, which works across borders to use ., ., and international law to protect the global environment. The successful candidate will have a , with at least ten years of litigation or other relevant experience in a . country or in international law, or equivalent training in another highly relevant professional field with at least 10 years of advocacy experience in an international context. This is a leadership position that requires strong management skills, a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a passion for Earthjustice's mission.

Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of the International Program's advocacy, including setting strategic direction and implementing advocacy efforts
- Provide support, guidance, and mentorship to team members
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, partners, and government authorities
- Collaborate with other Earthjustice departments to advance programmatic and institutional goals
- Cultivate relationships with funders to support the work of the International Program
- Collaborate with the General Counsel to ensure compliance with laws in multiple jurisdictions
- Serve as a primary public face for Earthjustice's international work
- Collaborate with Earthjustice leadership on vision, strategy, and organizational goals
- Ensure the excellence of the International Program's advocacy and alignment with Earthjustice's values and priorities
- Manage and lead a diverse team, including directly supervising staff
- Effect and manage organizational and program change
- Develop and promote inclusive workplace practices and policies
- Oversee International Program work and partnership collaborations with a focus on personal and organizational security
- Recruit and hire qualified candidates to support and grow a diverse and effective team
- Provide staff with ongoing feedback and career development opportunities
- Promote an inclusive work environment and model inclusive behaviors
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- , with at least ten years of litigation or other relevant experience in a . country or in international law, or equivalent training in another highly relevant professional field with at least 10 years of advocacy experience in an international context
- Ability to effectively manage and lead a diverse and international team
- Understanding of and experience with advocacy and litigation in both common law and civil law frameworks
- Understanding of global environmental threats and priorities, and of international tools, forums, and processes
- Excellent management skills, including the ability to promote career development and foster effective communication, collaboration, and mutual respect
- Commitment to and experience in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Commitment to serving the public interest and passion for Earthjustice's mission
- Proven ability to manage operations, including budgets and programs
- Familiarity or experience with technical issues related to climate change, fossil fuel extraction and infrastructure, and/or energy policy and law is desirable

Salary:
- Salary range in San Francisco or New York City: $225,900 - $251,000
- Salary range in Washington, .: $214,700 - $238,500
