Job Overview:

LPL Financial is seeking a Vice President, Assistant General Counsel to join our legal team in one of the following locations: Boston, MA; Fort Mill, SC; San Diego, CA; Austin, TX; or Kansas City, KS. In this role, you will be responsible for contracting for the firm's alternative investment offerings, including hedge funds, private credit funds, private equity funds, REITs, qualified opportunity zone funds, and other alternative offerings. You will work closely with various business groups, including products, compliance, and operations, to support LPL's alternative investments platform.

Responsibilities:

- Draft, review, and revise agreements with alternative investment sponsors for onboarding onto LPL's platform.
- Act as the primary legal contact for the firm's alternative investment initiatives.
- Provide legal analysis on securities regulations in a transactional context.
- Support LPL's alternative investments platform and vendor relationships.
- Ensure adherence to contracting processes and standards, including those related to risk allocation and data security.

Requirements:

- with 5-8 years of experience working with alternative investments at a law firm, asset manager, or broker-dealer.
- Direct experience negotiating contracts for alternative investment offerings.
- Extensive knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940, Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933, Exchange Act of 1934, and FINRA rules.
- Ability to identify and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferences:

- Experience with fund formation and drafting offering documents for alternative investments.
- Experience negotiating commercial contracts.

Pay Range: $174,640-$261,960/year
