Experience Information:

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

- Current admission to the Connecticut Bar or ability to waive in or achieve bar membership in a timely fashion

Responsibilities:

- Provide day-to-day legal advice to YNHH leadership and executives on a variety of issues related to healthcare providers and operations within YNHH
- Advise on medical staff, professional services and employment agreements, Medicare reimbursement, compliance arrangements, fraud and abuse, Stark Law, HIPPA/HITECH, contracts and leases, corporate governance, research and grant contracts, tax exemption matters, licensing and regulatory issues, patient care, responses to governmental investigations, antitrust issues, joint ventures, and asset purchases
- Offer legal advice on strategic initiatives and business operations
- Select and manage outside counsel
- Identify critical legal risk exposure matters
- Assist with or supervise paralegals in the department
- Perform other duties as requested by Deputy General Counsel and Sr. Vice President/General Counsel

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- At least 15 years of experience in corporate health care practice, preferably with some time in a healthcare setting
- Current admission to the Connecticut Bar or ability to waive in or achieve bar membership in a timely fashion
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to independently conduct legal research and provide advice
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
