Tax Manager - Federal Credits and Incentives - Washington National Tax

Full-time position with RSM, the leading provider of professional services to the middle market globally.

Purpose of the role: To instill confidence in a world of change by empowering clients and employees to realize their full potential.

Responsibilities:

• Provide compliance and consulting services in the area of Federal Credits & Incentives, with a focus on research and development.

• Consult with clients and client engagement teams.

• Generate thought leadership alerts, articles, and other content.

• Develop client service offerings and tools.

• Ensure a focus on tax quality and client service excellence.

• Monitor developments and liaise with Treasury, IRS, and Capitol Hill.

• Lead internal knowledge sharing and deliver training.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of continuous recent public accounting experience.

• Experience in a Big 4 or large national, regional, or local accounting firm.

• CPA license or JD required.

• Expertise in federal tax credits, specifically R&D credit.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong research and technical writing skills.

• Proficient use of technology, including Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and BNA.

Compensation Range: $95,400 - $207,000

Experience and Expertise:

• Extensive subject matter expertise in Federal Tax Credits & Incentives.

• Strong legal research and writing skills.

• Experience and expertise in research and development expenditures and credits highly desirable.

• Experience in tax controversy is a plus.
