As an Assistant General Counsel for corporate and regulatory compliance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our company operates in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining an effective compliance program, monitoring regulatory trends, and advising on compliance matters. This position requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate and regulatory compliance, with a preference for both law firm and in-house experience. A JD is strongly preferred, but candidates with relevant experience will also be considered. This is a full-time position based in Oak Brook, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strengthen and manage our corporate compliance program, including employee trainings and annual certifications and disclosures.
- Refine company policies and develop new policies as needed through collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor regulatory trends and advise on compliance matters, including managing our C-TPAT certification and other transportation industry regulatory processes.
- Oversee our ethics hotline and create and implement effective action plans in response to concerns raised.
- Support HR with compliance and internal investigations.
- Conduct assessments of company operations across business lines and locations in North America to identify and mitigate compliance and regulatory risks.
- Assist with special projects for the legal department, with a focus on process improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree required; JD strongly preferred, but non-JD candidates with relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate and regulatory compliance.
- Substantive knowledge of corporate compliance subject matter areas.
- Experience in the transportation sector preferred.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with using data to identify and measure key performance metrics.
- Proven success with prevention, detection, and response initiatives.
- Ability to effectively lead across a matrix of corporate functional and business unit teams.
- Proactive, driven, and eager to grow professionally with a focus on finding creative solutions.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Outlook and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
