IMMIGRATION STAFF ATTORNEY POSITION AT LEGAL AID SERVICE OF BROWARD COUNTY LASBC, a non-profit pro bono law firm, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Immigration Staff Attorney to join our team in Plantation, Florida. As a part of our interdisciplinary team, the attorney will provide immigration legal services to survivors of crimes, with a focus on humanitarian-based immigration benefits. About Legal Aid Service of Broward County: - Non-profit pro bono law firm in Southern Florida - Committed to providing high-quality, free civil legal advice, representation, and education to the disadvantaged - Over 125 employees, including 50+ attorneys - Mission to expand access to justice for all and challenge systems, laws, and policies that adversely affect the underserved and marginalized Job Description: - Provide immigration consultations and know-your-rights presentations to immigrant communities - Represent clients in various agencies, including immigration court, ICE, USCIS, and state and federal courts - Handle a variety of immigration cases, focusing on humanitarian-based immigration benefits such as VAWA, U Visa, and asylum - Engage with allied community organizations and participate in community education programs - Prepare grant and billing reports Qualifications: - Active membership in a State Bar - . degree from an ABA-accredited law school - 1-3 years of relevant experience in immigration law preferred - Experience serving low-income communities is a plus - Demonstrated capacity for sensitivity and empathy towards individuals who have survived traumatic experiences - Ability to handle a large caseload and work effectively in a highly stressful environment - Strong organizational and time management skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Excellent written and communication skills - Strong commitment to social, economic, and racial justice - Ability to work effectively across multiple teams - Fluency in Spanish or another language is a plus Salary and Benefits: - Exempt, full-time position with a competitive salary starting at $70,000-$85,000, commensurate with experience - Generous benefits package including health, vision, dental, and life insurance, retirement, 13 paid holidays, and generous annual and sick leave allotments - Opportunity for good work-life balance To Apply: Send a cover letter, resume, and references to Macarena Santos at .
