This position is open to both lateral hires with appellate experience, as well as entry level attorneys or recent law graduates. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in criminal defense and/or public interest law, and a demonstrated passion for appellate advocacy with exceptional writing skills. The Appeals Bureau at the Nassau County Legal Aid Society handles a wide range of criminal appeals, including felony, misdemeanor, and special litigation matters. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of cases and gain valuable experience in the field of criminal defense.
