A law firm in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intellectual Property Patent Agent. Joining our team means being involved with all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution. We're looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

Job Overview:

• Involved with all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution

Duties:

• Drafting mechanical applications related to one or more of engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspensions, control systems, consumer products, and medical devices
• Collaborating with clients and attorneys to strategize patent filings
• Conducting prior art searches and patentability assessments
• Assisting with patent portfolio management and maintenance

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience drafting mechanical applications
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other applicable technical experience
• Current status as a registered patent agent

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in patent drafting
• Excellent academic credentials
• Strong writing skills
• Professional recommendations

Education and Certifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Current registration as a patent agent
