As a Senior National Tax Consultant in our Federal Tax Advisory (FTA) practice, you'll have the chance to work on cutting-edge solutions for some of the world's largest organizations, middle market companies, and private companies. You'll be part of a team focused on solving complex tax issues and translating them into effective strategies to manage the impact of taxes on our clients' businesses. This includes identifying cash tax savings and refund opportunities in areas such as FDII, BEAT, and GILTI planning, R&D credits, accounting methods, capitalization and cost recovery, transaction costs, inventory, and more. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to directly interface with clients, analyze data and information, prepare analyses, and collaborate with subject matter professionals to develop effective tax strategies. You'll also have the chance to mentor and guide associates, manage projects, and work with EY managers and partners to deliver exceptional client service and help grow our practice. To qualify for this role, you'll need a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, management information systems, or a related field, with approximately four years of related work experience. A graduate degree in tax, law, or management information systems, and approximately three years of related work experience, is also acceptable. You'll also need a valid US Enrolled Agent, CPA, or licensed attorney designation, or be eligible to obtain one. Other qualifications include experience with tax research and analysis, proficiency in analyzing large datasets, and strong managerial, organizational, and communication skills. Ideally, you'll also have experience with IRS tax controversy and statistical sampling, as well as current data analytics and visual tools such as MS Power BI, MS Power Pivot, MS Power Query, and Alteryx. A background in a Big 4 firm and certifications in Alteryx or Microsoft products are also desirable.
