This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary and bonus based on personal and company performance.

As a Senior Claims Examiner, you will be responsible for adjudicating assigned claims within given authority and providing operational support to the claims team. You will adjust and resolve moderate to complex claims, accurately document claim files, and review and analyze claim documentation and legal filings. You will also identify emerging exposures and claims trends, drive litigation best practices, and participate in claims projects as needed.

The US Claims team at Hiscox is a growing group of professionals focused on delivering profitability while reinforcing the company's strong brand built on a long history of outstanding claims handling. With strong growth across the US business, the team is committed to providing superior customer service and claims handling expertise.

In order to be successful in this role, you should have at least 6 years of claims handling experience and a JD from an ABA accredited law school may be considered as a supplement. You should also have advanced knowledge of claims analysis and adjusting practices, as well as in-depth knowledge of standards for claims documentation and legal filings. Strong verbal and written communication skills, an active insurance adjuster's license, and a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited College or University are also required. Additional factors that will be considered include subject matter expertise, mediation, arbitration or trial attendance, and demonstrated commitment to professional development and learning.

The ideal candidate will have a take-charge attitude, be able to work with minimal oversight, and have the ability to identify and suggest improvements to processes within the claim department. They will also have a strong focus on customer service and be able to actively and effectively negotiate settlement of moderate to complex claims.
