The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Solicitor General to join their dynamic team. This role will involve representing the State of Texas before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Texas Supreme Court, the . Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and all state courts of appeals. The Assistant Solicitor General will handle highly complex and advanced appellate work, and will be responsible for researching and drafting briefs, preparing and delivering oral arguments, and handling all aspects of appeals and appellate-related trial matters. This is a full-time position with a standard work week of 40 hours, and the salary ranges from $11, to $13, per month based on experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities: - Represent the State of Texas before state and federal appellate courts - Conduct legal research and draft briefs - Prepare and deliver oral arguments - Provide legal advice and counsel to client state agencies - Handle all aspects of appeals and appellate-related trial matters - Plan and organize work assignments - Interpret laws and regulations - Provide legal opinions and research - Supervise other attorneys and staff as needed - Attend work regularly and comply with all agency policies and procedures Qualifications: - Graduation from an accredited law school - Four years of full-time experience in appellate law or a related field - Judicial clerkship in a federal or state appellate court - Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas - Member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas - Knowledge of relevant laws, legal principles, and practices - Strong computer skills - Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines - Excellent communication skills - Sound judgment and decision-making abilities - Ability to work well with others in a professional environment - Strong customer service skills - Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location and travel as needed To Apply: To apply for this position, please submit an electronic application through CAPPS Recruit.
