As an attorney with Children's Legal Services, you will have the opportunity to advocate for the safety, well-being, and permanency of Florida's abused, abandoned, and neglected children. With a team of over 300 attorneys, Children's Legal Services is the leader in the courtroom at each stage of a Chapter 39 proceeding. Key responsibilities in this role include ensuring that Florida and federal legal requirements are met to secure permanent and safe homes for dependent children, collaborating with investigators and case managers to gather necessary evidence, and employing best practice litigation techniques in pleadings and trial presentations. This position also offers opportunities for growth, including pathways for promotion and participation in special projects to create strategies for better outcomes for children. To be considered for this position, you must have a law degree. However, training will be provided to help you excel in this role, including a multi-week onboarding program, quarterly intensive multi-day new attorney training, and an annual advanced litigation academy. The State of Florida also offers a variety of benefits for its employees, including paid Florida Bar dues, public loan forgiveness programs, no state income tax for residents, generous leave and holiday policies, and various insurance and retirement options. As a full-time permanent attorney, you can expect an annual base salary of $55,000, with a total compensation package valued at a minimum of $77,947.
