A law firm in Omaha is seeking an experienced Environmental Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will provide counsel on a wide range of environmental matters, including mergers and acquisitions, permitting, risk mitigation, compliance, and renewable energy projects. Strong writing and communication skills are essential for this role. The firm values candidates with a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, bar admission in at least one . jurisdiction, and 5+ years of environmental law experience.

 

Duties:

  • Advise clients on environmental issues related to mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, tax credits, and financing.
  • Assist with permitting processes for stormwater, air, and water emissions.
  • Provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies and ensure federal, state, and local regulatory compliance.
  • Address emerging contaminant concerns and support renewable energy projects.
  • Navigate legal matters involving the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other federal environmental laws.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across offices and practice groups to deliver comprehensive legal services.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored legal solutions.

 

Requirements:

  • Law degree (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in at least one . jurisdiction.
  • 5+ years of environmental law experience in the public and/or private sector.
  • Experience with federal environmental laws and standards, including CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, CWA, and CAA.
  • Transactional experience in environmental law.
  • Familiarity with state and local environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with pollution legal liability insurance and prior defense sites preferred.
  • Portable business preferred.

 

Education:

Law degree (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Bar admission in at least one . jurisdiction.
