A law firm in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a Litigation Attorney to handle all aspects of civil litigation in state and federal court, including discovery, depositions, motions practice, and trials.

 

Duties:

  • Manage all phases of civil litigation cases from inception to resolution
  • Conduct written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts
  • Prepare and argue motions before state and federal courts
  • Assist with trial preparation, including drafting pleadings, trial briefs, and exhibits
  • Conduct legal research on relevant case law and statutes
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
  • Maintain organized case files and document management systems
  • Provide regular updates to clients on case status and developments
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to achieve successful outcomes for clients

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Maryland
  • Eligible to waive into the District of Columbia Bar
  • Active Bar membership in . and/or Virginia (additional compensation provided)
  • 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in legal software and technology
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism and ethical conduct

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in Maryland
  • Eligibility to waive into the District of Columbia Bar
