A law firm in Bloomington, MN, is seeking a Land Use and Real Estate Attorney with 2-5 years of prior experience to work closely with the land use and real estate practice group. The candidate will support clients with a wide range of legal matters related to land use, zoning, environmental regulations, mining, solar, renewables, permitting, licensing, and other regulatory issues.

 

Duties:

  • Collaborate with the land use and real estate practice group to assist clients with various legal matters.
  • Represent clients before local government bodies in Minnesota and Wisconsin on environmental, land use, zoning, public finance, urban redevelopment, and historic preservation issues.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze contracts, statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, and regulations.
  • Prepare legal documents and provide sound legal advice based on research findings.
  • Attend evening municipal meetings during the week.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited United States law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of Minnesota.
  • 2-5 years of prior experience in Land Use and/or Real Estate matters.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited United States law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in the state of Minnesota.

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently.
  • Experience representing clients before local government bodies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, zoning laws, and land use policies.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and providing legal advice.
