The McIlveen Family Law Firm is now hiring a Senior Litigation Counsel with 7+ years of experience. We are looking for a motivated Attorney with exceptional trial, negotiation, research, and communication skills. The Attorney should be knowledgeable, attentive, and proactive with excellent communication, negotiation, public speaking, and problem-solving skills.

The Senior Litigation Counsel will develop relationships with clients as they establish legal needs, provide counsel, help them understand their legal options, and represent them in court and negotiations. The Attorney will also conduct research, prepare legal documents, and perform other duties to ensure that clients receive the best and most cost-effective legal solutions.

Requirements for Senior Litigation Counsel

• Licensed in North Carolina


• Graduation from an accredited law school


• Excellent academic record


• First chair trial experience


• Family law experience


• Specialist in Family Law


• Recognized by reputable organizations such as SuperLawyer's

Job Duties of Senior Litigation Counsel

• Advising Clients: Advise clients regarding ongoing litigation or explain legal issues they might be facing or have concerns about.


• Research: Research the details and evidence involved in cases, such as police reports, DSS reports, or pleadings previously filed in a case, as well as applicable law.


• Interpreting Case Law: Interpret case law and decisions handed down by other applicable courts. This can involve analyzing the effects of a good many factors that might have been involved in other cases.


• Developing Case Strategies: Develop case strategies, such as trying to resolve cases early and cost-effectively for his clients rather than go to trial.


• Preparing Documents: Prepare pleadings and other documents, such as separation agreements, deeds, and wills.


• Arguing in Court: Appear in court before a judge to orally argue for a client's rights and best interests.


• Representing Family Law Clients: Represent family law clients in mediation, hearings, and court.


• Building Relationships: Building relationships with clients based on trust.


• Negotiating and Settling Cases: Negotiate and settle cases.


• Consulting with Potential Clients: Consult with potential clients.


• Business Development: Business development.
