Counsel, Consumer Vehicles Product Legal - CLO, Legal About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced lawyer to join our Product Legal team as Counsel for Uber's Consumer Vehicles products. In this role, you will provide centralized ownership of all legal work related to our products and offer guidance and support to our US operations teams. You will focus on product development counseling, regulatory advising, and commercial transactions for our Carshare and Uber Rent products. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced team, and to be an integral part of Uber's mission to transform the way people move. Key Responsibilities: - Serve as a trusted business partner and provide timely, business-focused legal advice to the Consumer Vehicles team. - Lead legal reviews for new expansions of products, features, and markets within the Carshare and Uber Rent spaces, advising on risk reduction strategies. - Conduct regulatory diligence prior to new market launches for Carshare and Uber Rent, including direct engagement with regulatory authorities. - Draft and negotiate contracts with vendors and rental car companies to support our Carshare and Uber Rent products. - Provide legal support for other product proposals within the Mobility team, including product and feature launches for the Uber Driver App. - Collaborate with internal legal teams and regional legal teams to provide comprehensive and cohesive advice. - Communicate effectively to support a high-performing, diverse team in achieving our legal and regulatory goals. Qualifications: Basic: - Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience focused on contract negotiations, regulatory work, and/or product counseling OR minimum 4 years of legal experience plus 1 year of internal experience at Uber. - . and license to practice law in at least one . state. Preferred: - In-house legal experience. - Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, both as part of a team and independently. - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with business leaders and cross-functional partners. - Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet. - Ability to communicate complex legal issues in a clear and simple manner to non-legal colleagues. - Ability to influence and build consensus in high-profile, ambiguous situations. - Strong ethical standards and accountability. - Passion for Uber and our mission. Salary Information: - For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. - For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. - For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. - All US locations are eligible for participation in Uber's bonus program and may be offered equity awards and other forms of compensation.
