Summary: - Organization: OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL - Job Title: Assistant Attorney General I-IV - Experience: 1-3 years of legal experience required - Salary: $6, - $7, per month - Location: Pflugerville, Texas - Full-time schedule with 40 hours per week - Travel required (25% of the time) The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking Assistant Attorneys General (AAGs) to join their Child Support Division (CSD) in promoting responsible parenting and ensuring children in Texas receive the support they need. AAGs represent the State of Texas in legal proceedings related to child support and medical support, and also provide legal advice and training. The OAG offers a healthy work-life balance, opportunities for hands-on legal experience, and excellent benefits. Qualifications for the AAG positions include a high school diploma or equivalent, a Bachelor's degree, and a Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school. Candidates must also be licensed attorneys in the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar. Other required skills include knowledge of Family Law and the Texas Family Code, legal writing, mediation, and negotiation, and proficiency in using a personal computer. The ability to work cooperatively with others and provide excellent customer service is also important. Preferred qualifications include two years of experience in handling Family Law cases, jury trial experience, and experience in a high-volume legal practice. Proficiency in Spanish is also desired.
