Staff Counsel-Workers Compensation: In-House Role in Florida with Competitive Salary and Benefits

AmTrust Financial Services, a leading commercial insurance company, is seeking a Staff Counsel-Workers Compensation for their in-house legal team. This is a full-time, remote position in the state of Florida with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

- Independently represent the Employer/Carrier in administrative hearings for litigated workers' compensation claims
- Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive research, and develop defense strategies on behalf of the Employer/Carrier
- Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs
- Provide timely and effective communication, legal advice, and other services to clients and claims professionals
- Assist in developing training materials for the workers' compensation claim department
- Collaborate with the claim department and Law Department on special projects related to workers' compensation
- Communicate with the Office of the Judges of Compensation Claims, witnesses, opposing counsel, and clients
- Ensure prompt and efficient resolution of assigned cases
- Attend continuing legal education seminars to maintain a high level of professional expertise

Qualifications:

- Licensed attorney in the state of Florida
- Knowledge of Florida's Workers' Compensation statutes and their application
- 3+ years of experience in workers' compensation litigation
