Organization is seeking a highly experienced and driven General Counsel (In-House) to join their team in Las Vegas, Nevada. Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Counsel will be responsible for managing operations and compliance across various functions in a nonprofit setting. This includes overseeing corporate legal, human resources, insurance, facilities, safety, and information technology. The General Counsel will also work closely with the CEO, board, and internal teams to ensure effective corporate governance practices and compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities: • Independently evaluate issues and determine the appropriate course of action • Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision and strategy • Oversee internal functions including corporate legal, human resources, insurance, facilities, safety, and information technology • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations • Develop and implement the organization’s legal and compliance strategy • Provide strategic legal guidance and solutions to further the organization’s mission and vision • Review and negotiate contracts • Manage and coordinate with outside counsel and other service providers • Handle confidential information with discretion • Collect data, perform analysis, and prepare reports on a recurring and ad hoc basis • Attend meetings, take detailed minutes, and see that follow-ups are completed • Meticulously organize and maintain electronic and physical files Requirements: • Active membership in a state bar with good standing • Currently licensed to practice law in Nevada, or eligible to be licensed within 6 months of hire • 5+ years of experience as general counsel or in corporate law • A strong understanding of regulatory implications for nonprofit organizations • Alignment with and support for the organization’s purpose, core beliefs, current mission, and brand • Exceptional leadership and management skills • High drive, curiosity, and commitment to meeting goals on time • Strong sense of humor and positive, team-first attitude • Exceptional organization and follow-through • Emotional maturity and the ability to successfully work with strong personalities • Strong processing, organizational, and work management skills • Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional written and oral communication skills • Ability to travel as required (less than 25%) If you are a genuinely excellent human being who is passionate about fighting for freedom and creating a world of maximal individual liberty, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
