The Law Firm of Lowenstein Sandler is currently seeking a highly qualified Patent Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience in patent law to join our Intellectual Property team. The position is available in our Roseland, NJ, Centerville, UT, or Palo Alto, CA locations. The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting, preparing, filing, and prosecuting patent applications for software including operating systems, middleware software, directory servers, network management, virtualization and cloud computing. A degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, with work experience as a software developer, is required. The candidate must also be admitted to the USPTO.

Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications for software including operating systems, middleware software, directory servers, network management, virtualization and cloud computing
- Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate searches
- Provide legal advice and support to clients on intellectual property matters
- Assist with patent litigation and post-grant proceedings

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent law
- Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- Work experience as a software developer
- Admitted to the USPTO
