The Bilingual Managing Attorney (Immigration) position at the law firm Rebecca Kitson Law (RKL) in Albuquerque, New Mexico is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join their team. This is a unique opportunity for a bilingual attorney with at least 3 years of post-graduate experience in immigration and 1 year of supervisory/management experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing legal support staff, handling cases, and working collaboratively with the firm's management team. This is a shareholder track position with the potential for growth and advancement within the firm. Responsibilities: - Directly manage and supervise legal support staff, including managing their caseloads and supporting time management through regular meetings. - Support, motivate, and inspire the legal team to achieve department and firm production goals. - Engage in strategic planning to efficiently and effectively handle cases. - Review filings, perform legal research, and provide guidance to Case Managers. - Meet with clients to address concerns and support legal strategy. - Train new hires in the Legal Services department and provide ongoing training for all legal staff. - Prepare clients for interviews and hearings before state and federal agencies. - Attend interviews and hearings as needed. - Provide support and coverage for attorneys and legal support staff. - Work collaboratively with the firm's management team. Qualifications: - Juris Doctor and admission to NM or other state bar. - Fully bilingual in English/Spanish. - Minimum 3 years' post-graduate experience in immigration law. - Minimum 1-year supervisory/management experience. - Strong project management and organization skills. - Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. - Commitment to a client-centered practice with a standard of excellence. - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. - Experience working with diverse clients, communities, and colleagues. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
