As a Senior Claims Specialist for Financial Institutions and Transactional Liability, you will play a crucial role in reviewing complex claims and making recommendations for settlement. You will have the opportunity to work with internal and external partners, including senior leaders in Claims and Underwriting, to assess and resolve severity losses. This role can be based in any of our office locations, including New York, NY; Short Hills, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Princeton, NJ; Alpharetta, GA; and Chicago, IL. We also offer a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Independently handle a large inventory of complex, severity claims for Financial Institutions and Transactional Liability
- Adhere to best practices in claim handling and thoroughly document the claim process
- Evaluate, reserve, and manage the timely disposition of assigned claims
- Document coverage, investigation, damages, negotiations, and other relevant aspects of the claim
- Collaborate with internal and external partners on severity matters, including presenting to senior leaders in Claims and Underwriting
- Make effective recommendations for claim settlement and navigate complicated coverage issues, including allocation
- Prepare reports and authority requests for senior management
- Travel for mediations or settlement conferences when needed (approximately 10% of the time)
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
-
- 7-10 years of experience in claims handling or equivalent experience in private practice; previous legal experience at an insurance defense or coverage law firm is a plus
- Proficient in analyzing coverage, identifying issues, and drafting coverage correspondence
- Experience with Complex Professional Liability claims, including Public Company or Executive Risk, Private Company D&O, Private Equity, and Bankers Professional Liability products
- Familiarity with Transactional Liability claims, specifically Representation and Warranty insurance
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Salary Information:
- Based on experience and location, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of:
- New York, NY/Red Bank, NJ: $110,000 - $150,000
- Short Hills, NJ: $100,000 - $140,000
- Chicago, IL: $90,000 - $130,000
- Alpharetta, GA: $85,000 - $120,000
- In addition, all employees are eligible for competitive incentive targets based on overall corporate and individual performance
