Position Summary:

The Legal Counsel at GTT will play a crucial role in the company’s operations by managing all sales contract matters. This includes negotiating contracts, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. The ideal candidate will have a JD degree from an accredited law school and a minimum of 5 years of experience in contract lifecycle management. They must also have hands-on experience with sales contract preparation, review, and negotiation. This position is full-time and remote, and the salary range is $95,000 - $115,000.

Key Responsibilities:

- Negotiate sales contracts in a fast-paced business environment
- Serve as an adviser and resource for internal stakeholders with specific questions and requests regarding current sales contracts
- Work closely with the sales and sourcing teams, business unit stakeholders, and the legal team to develop and support the implementation of GTT’s overall contract management strategy
- Ensure sales compliance with contractual obligations, service level agreements, and other performance requirements
- Lead the approval and execution of specific contracts
- Support issue escalation and dispute resolution with sales contracts
- Draft, amend, advise on, and negotiate the full range of commercial agreements for all GTT products
- Provide accurate and understandable legal advice and drafting focused on the business’s issues
- Articulate GTT’s risk appetite to all levels of the company, including senior management and executives, to ensure compliance with policies and make them aware of unfavorable terms and conditions
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate contractual risk
- Sort and organize complex information for use in decision making
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and business practices
- Resolve customer billing issues and disputes with suppliers
- Monitor contract amendments, extensions, and renewals and close out as appropriate
- Maintain accurate sales and vendor/supplier records

Required Experience/Qualifications:

- JD degree from an accredited law school
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience in contract lifecycle management
- Hands-on experience of sales contract preparation, review, and negotiation
- Broad knowledge of the telecommunications business
- Proven track record of effectively managing and influencing internal and external stakeholders
- Experience using cloud-based contract management tools
- Results-oriented mentality with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and quality

- A commercially/business savvy individual who can provide options and solutions rather than simply saying no
- Ability to articulate the business drivers behind GTT’s goals
