The Department of Health is seeking an entry level attorney to join their Prosecution Services Unit (PSU). This is a rolling requisition that will remain open for two months and will be used to fill vacancies in the PSU as they occur. Remote assignments are available in investigative field office locations or at the Tallahassee headquarters.

The PSU is responsible for prosecuting violations of state law and administrative rules by licensees of the healthcare professions regulated by the Division of Medical Quality Assurance. This includes evaluating investigative reports, making probable cause recommendations, and litigating cases through final resolution.

As an entry level attorney, you will handle fewer or less complex disciplinary cases and may work independently under infrequent supervision. Your responsibilities will include reviewing case files, developing legal opinions, presenting cases before probable cause panels, drafting pleadings and discovery, representing the Department in court, and providing timely and professional representation in all aspects of litigation.

To qualify for this position, you must have a Juris Doctorate from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association and must become a member of the Florida Bar within 12 months of appointment.
