Role Overview
- Seeking motivated, mission-oriented corporate counsel to join growing Legal team at Pelago
- Second attorney for company, responsible for driving success for commercial organization, supporting operational and clinical initiatives, advising on product development, and serving as trusted partner to General Counsel and leadership team

Responsibilities
- Navigate uncertainty by assessing federal and state regulations governing Telehealth and Substance Use Disorder programs
- Support compliance with provider licensing, registration, and other operational requirements
- Accelerate business by drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with customers, health plans, and partners
- Develop templates and playbooks to facilitate contracting
- Oversee contract and vendor management
- Shape success by advising on product development and serving as primary contact for internal teams

Requirements
- JD from accredited US law school
- Current bar registration and good standing
- 4-7 years of experience at law firm or in-house
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and remotely
- Attention to detail and clear written/verbal communication
- Collaborative approach, curiosity, and willingness to stretch
- Ability to operate with a business mindset

Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Telehealth, Digital Health, or SUD and applicable regulations (HIPAA, Part 2, PHE Waivers/Flexibilities, etc.)
- In-house experience with high growth startup
- Exposure to provider licensing and corporate practice of medicine
- Past implementation and administration of a CLM or other ticketing/workflow system
- Comfort supporting cross-functional stakeholders with competing priorities and deadlines
