In this job summary, we are looking for a Senior Attorney with at least 2 years of bar admission experience to join the Children's Legal Services department at the Department of Children and Families in DeLand, Florida. The Senior Attorney will be responsible for advocating for the safety and well-being of abused, abandoned, and neglected children in court proceedings. The position offers a competitive salary of $69,000 annually and a comprehensive benefits package with opportunities for growth and advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Advocate for the safety, well-being, and permanency of abused, abandoned, and neglected children in court proceedings
- Collaborate with investigators and case managers to gather evidence and prepare for legal action
- Ensure compliance with Florida and federal legal requirements to secure permanent and safe homes for dependent children
- Use best practice litigation techniques to lead the nation in dependency advocacy
- Provide training and guidance to new attorneys through a multi-week onboarding program and quarterly and annual training sessions
- Fulfill all Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements through webinars and live trainings
- Participate in special projects to create strategies for better outcomes for children
- Opportunities for growth and advancement within the department

Qualifications:

- Law Degree
- Minimum of 2 years bar admission experience
