About the Organization: Indiana Legal Services, Inc. (ILS) is a statewide, not-for-profit organization that provides free legal services to eligible clients in civil cases through 8 branch offices. ILS is funded by various sources including the Legal Services Corporation, Indiana Civil Legal Aid Fund, United Ways, and other funding sources. Responsibilities: - Provide substantive legal advice and representation to low-income immigrants in humanitarian and family-based immigration petitions - Cultivate and develop relationships with partner organization La Casa de Amistad - Represent immigrants seeking asylum in removal proceedings - Supervise assigned law students and volunteers - Cultivate relationships with partner organizations and provide training - Plan, implement, and staff regular outreach sessions with partner organizations - Develop and maintain networking relationships with local bar associations and community agencies - Exhibit a high level of personal energy, organization, and commitment to the position and the ILS mission Qualifications: - . degree from an ABA-accredited law school and admitted to practice law in Indiana - Proficiency in Spanish - 2-3 years of immigration practice experience strongly preferred - Demonstrated commitment to social and economic justice and serving disadvantaged and immigrant communities - Strong writing, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills - Ability to provide victim-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally competent legal assistance - Ability to work collaboratively with multiple organizations - Prior legal experience in humanitarian immigration and victim services preferred - Prior removal defense experience preferred - Law school clinic, externship, summer, or other relevant practice experience - Valid Indiana driver's license and reliable transportation required Salary and Benefits: - Starting salary of $57,425, with a range up to $75,535 depending on experience - Additional compensation available for Spanish language certification - Excellent fringe benefits package including health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, 401(k) plan, flex benefit plan, and generous vacation and healthcare leave To Apply: - Send a letter explaining your interest and experience, a copy of your resume, and a list of three professional references to - Start date: As soon as reasonably possible.
