A law firm in Minneapolis, MN, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Intellectual Property Attorney to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a registered USPTO patent attorney with 8-14 years of experience, possessing a strong academic background in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study.

Duties:

• Conduct global patent prosecution and effectively manage patent portfolios.
• Provide expertise in freedom to operate and patent clearance assessments.
• Handle licensing agreements and other technology transactions.
• Conduct due diligence related to mergers and acquisitions.
• Collaborate with a team to articulate legal strategies and courses of action.
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects efficiently.
• Demonstrate superior judgment in legal decision-making.

Requirements:

• Registered USPTO patent attorney.
• 8-14 years of experience in intellectual property law.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent academic record.
• Proficient writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Active Bar license in MN.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in global patent prosecution and portfolio management.
• Knowledge of freedom to operate and patent clearance processes.
• Background in licensing and other technology transactions.
• Previous involvement in due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar license in the state of Minnesota.
