We are currently seeking a full-time litigation associate with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in relevant practice areas to join our team in our Raleigh, NC office. Pre-Requisites: Before applying for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, Equipment Leasing & Finance Litigation, Commercial Creditor Bankruptcy, and general Creditors’ Rights Worked in a private litigation practice, with an understanding of the business aspects of managing a law practice NC Bar license in good standing Strong legal analysis and writing skills Strong courtroom and negotiation skills Demonstrated leadership ability Self-motivated, including desire and ability to market his/her practice Responsibilities: As a litigation associate at Smith Debnam, your responsibilities will include: Drafting legal documents and pleadings Conducting legal research Communicating with clients and opposing counsel Representing clients in court and during negotiations Assisting with trial preparation and strategy Experience: The ideal candidate for this position will have 2-4 years of litigation experience in federal, state, and/or bankruptcy courts.
