Job Overview: A law firm seeks a skilled Bankruptcy Associate Attorney to join its team in Annapolis, MD. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing and filing bankruptcy cases, manage communication with clients and court personnel, and provide support for a growing practice.

Job Duties:

  • Review documents for filing bankruptcy cases
  • Draft bankruptcy motions as required by case needs
  • Review bankruptcy petitions, schedules, applications, and plans
  • Review and prepare collection cases for District and Circuit Courts
  • File documents in bankruptcy court and state courts
  • File petitions and motions in various bankruptcy courts
  • Communicate extensively with clients, creditors, and court staff
  • Provide support for the firm's growing bankruptcy practice

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Maryland; licenses in Virginia and the District of Columbia are advantageous
  • 1-5 years of Bankruptcy or Collection Experience
  • Outstanding research, drafting, and analytical skills
  • Strong academic background in law
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Analytical and project management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Drafting skills

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Maryland State Bar; admission to the Virginia State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar are preferred
