Nationwide's Legal team is seeking a self-motivated and organized Senior Trial Attorney to join their Pennsylvania Trial Team. The successful candidate will have prior insurance defense experience and will be responsible for handling cases from start to finish, including pre-suit through trial. There is no billing requirement for this position.

Responsibilities include:

- Demonstrating proficiency in case management software and Microsoft products
- Timely reporting to clients and claims customers
- Independently handling cases as lead counsel or as part of a team
- Utilizing technology and collaborating with support staff to efficiently manage cases
- Staying up-to-date with changes in the law, technology, and other aspects of the legal and insurance industries
- Providing sound opinions on case valuations
- Building and maintaining professional relationships with key associates and colleagues
- Mentoring and training junior attorneys and staff
- Communicating effectively with clients, claims, and internal teams

Requirements:

- Active license in the state of Pennsylvania
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant civil litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to process information efficiently and effectively
- Resourceful and creative problem solver
- Computer savvy with a solid understanding of basic software
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Leadership skills for motivating, problem solving, and business development
- Familiarity with ethical rules and corporate policies

Working conditions for this position may include a combination of office and remote work, frequent travel, and extended hours. A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
