Associate General Counsel- Commercial Lending

Experience: 5-10 years of related experience in commercial loan documentation
Location: Austin, Texas

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to join our team at Farm Credit Bank of Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal support for a suite of commercial technology systems, including loan application and documentation, cash management services, and online platforms. You will also be responsible for records management, data privacy programs, and managing internal due diligence processes. Additionally, you will provide support to the attorney supporting the bank's commercial credit department.

Responsibilities:

- Serve as the primary legal liaison for the Information Technology department, providing support for technology initiatives related to commercial and consumer financing
- Work with compliance and documentation testing teams to identify and resolve issues and ensure compliance with regulations
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and perform legal research related to commercial and consumer loans
- Support the bank's records management, legal holds, and data privacy programs
- Provide back-up legal support to the Credit department for complex commercial agricultural and agribusiness lending transactions
- Draft opinions on compliance of loans and loan participations with regulations
- Develop policies, procedures, and other documentation as needed
- Collaborate with IT product teams to ensure alignment between technology roadmap and business practices

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor Degree or equivalent
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas
- 5-10 years of experience in commercial loan documentation
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial loan documentation
- Familiarity with commercial or consumer lending systems technology preferred
- Knowledge of agricultural and agribusiness lending and/or experience in a regulated bank or financial institution beneficial
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to develop positive working relationships
