(CLS) Job Title: Family Attorney Experience: Connecticut bar admission or ability to be sworn in to the Connecticut bar. Location: Waterbury, Willimantic, Bridgeport, Stamford, Connecticut CLS is seeking dedicated attorneys to fill six staff attorney positions in its Family Unit, providing holistic and client-centered legal advocacy for domestic violence survivors seeking restraining orders in Waterbury, Willimantic, Bridgeport, and Stamford's family court. The organization is looking for individuals who are deeply committed to advocating for low-income, vulnerable, and marginalized communities. Responsibilities and Qualifications: - Maintain an active caseload of representation and advice cases, including regular court and/or administrative hearing appearances - Conduct community outreach remotely and in-person, and coordinate with other social service agencies working with clients - Identify larger trends and issues for clients and develop strategies to respond to them - Deep and demonstrated commitment to advocacy on behalf of low-income, vulnerable, and marginalized communities - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including persuasive writing and effective communication with diverse populations - Ability to collaborate closely with colleagues and work independently when necessary - Creativity and flexibility in problem-solving and meeting challenges - Connecticut bar admission or ability to be sworn in to the Connecticut bar - Experience or connections to low-income communities and communities of color - Knowledge of relevant substantive and procedural law, including courtroom practice and family law. Compensation and Benefits: - Salary range of $61,362-$120,584, depending on experience - Excellent vacation/leave, health, and other benefits - Start date: As soon as possible.
