BDO, a top global accounting and advisory firm, is seeking a Core Tax Associate for their summer 2024 program on Long Island. This is a full-time position, offering competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package. As a Core Tax Associate, you will have the opportunity to utilize your educational background and skills to assist with tax returns and research. You will also work with tax software applications to complete simple tax returns for review. This position offers opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance: Ensuring client and self-compliance with all applicable authorities and minimizing tax and reporting burdens
ASC 740-10 Tax Accruals: Applying firm policies and standards regarding FAS 109 and FIN 48
Tax Consulting: Developing and implementing efficient methods to maximize client benefits and decrease taxes
Other duties as required

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics required OR Bachelor's degree in another focus area with CPA certification
Master's in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
Leadership experience preferred
Accounting-based internship preferred
Eligible to sit for CPA exams
Progress towards admission to practice in a . jurisdiction
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to work effectively in a team setting
Takes initiative and seeks advice when needed
Ability to prepare simple tax returns

Salary Information:

California range: $75,000-$82,000
Colorado range: $56,000-$68,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester range: $72,000-$78,000
Washington range: $65,500-$75,000
