# Senior Counsel

## Overview

The Michael Fisher Child Health Equity Center at Cincinnati Children's is looking for a Senior Counsel to join their team. This role will provide legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights, obligations, and privileges of the organization. They will also represent the organization to customers, suppliers, competitors, and government agencies. The Senior Counsel will be the primary legal counsel to the Child Health Equity Center and will advise on the civic, legal, and regulatory affairs of the Center. ## Responsibilities

The Senior Counsel will have a wide range of responsibilities associated with their role, including:

- Directly supporting institutional and Fisher Center goals by successfully advancing a culture of health equity and social responsibility principles
- Leading the Community Table of city-wide and regional executives to develop and execute on shared vision, goals, and plan for all children to thrive
- Representing Cincinnati Children's in the national network and staying current in best-in-class organizational practices
- Consulting and aligning with state and local partners and constituents to develop Cincinnati Children's as an anchor institution in the region
- Acting as the point person for legal matters that arise in work and connection to the legal department
- Developing emerging capabilities and keeping pace with Health Equity initiatives within Cincinnati Children's
- Driving engagement and identifying and seeking opportunities to celebrate and communicate Culture, Health Equity, and Social Responsibility
- Providing legal advice and counsel within designated areas to institutional leaders
- Providing legal review for policies and procedures within designated areas as required
- Negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and approving contracts and agreements within designated areas, as appropriate
- Assisting with the development of training programs and providing training for administrators, faculty, and staff relating to designated areas
- Collaborating with departmental and organizational leadership on long-term and short-term planning

## Qualifications

The Senior Counsel role requires a and 5+ years of work experience practicing law. Additionally, the individual must maintain licensure to practice law in the State of Ohio and have 5+ years of legal experience leading and developing broad scale organizational/enterprise diversity, inclusion, and equity strategies and patient advocacy. Other qualifications include 5+ years of experience interfacing with Senior Leadership team, 5+ years of experience addressing health disparity and/or health equity concerns, 5+ years of experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools, 5+ years of experience working with Medicaid and/or Medicare programs, experience working in a matrix environment, and experience working with and influencing all levels of employees.
