Litigation Counsel - Mattamy Homes - Florida

- Job Title: Litigation Counsel
- Location: Must reside within commutable distance to one of our FL offices: Orlando, Boynton Beach, Jacksonville, Tampa, Naples/Fort Myers
- Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent / Onsite 4 days a week minimum

Responsibilities:

- Report to the General Counsel and supervise/manage pre-litigation, Chapter 558, and litigation matters in all divisions of Mattamy Homes.
- Coordinate with and advise the General Counsel on litigation and pre-litigation matters.
- Support day-to-day litigation case management, including discovery, factual investigations, insurance reporting and coordination, and attending mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and depositions.
- Assist divisions with customer care and warranty legal issues, handle regulatory agency complaints, and represent Mattamy Homes in interactions and disputes with customers, contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Review and draft trade partner agreements, vendor agreements, construction lien law documentation and procedures, and insurance requirements.

Requirements:

- . degree from an accredited . law school.
- Active license to practice law in FL.
- 5-10 years of experience in commercial and construction litigation at a top law firm or in-house with a homebuilding and land development company.
- Proficient knowledge of legal issues specific to the homebuilding, land development, and construction industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to collaborate and interact with senior business and legal leadership.
- Highly disciplined and able to provide timely, strategic, and practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of local cultures, business practices, laws, and regulatory systems.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and multi-task.
- Strong drafting, negotiating, and writing skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and devise creative solutions and strategies for resolution.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to professionalism and integrity.
- Willingness to travel to various company offices and locations within Florida and other states if needed.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, a passport for international travel.

Bonus points:

- Prior in-house counsel experience strongly preferred.
