Advice to law firm management:

Try doing things to improve employee morale. People are here because they have to be but they don't need to hate it.

Pros:

This firm will accept you and train you if you have nowhere else to go but still have the skills to do the job.

Cons:

Everyone here is angry for various reasons and people are constantly fighting over tiny issues. It is not a happy place to work at.

Advice to law firm management:

Offer promotions to those that deserve them. Work on improving management.

Pros:

They have a nationwide reputation. Some of the best and brightest work here. The staff is excellent. The environment is relaxing and professional.

Cons:

Not everyone was great to work with here. There is not a lot of room for growth. Management does not always work well with employees.

Advice to law firm management:

Attorneys often want more information and input and while good with more personal information coming certain attorneys need more attention than others.

Pros:

A great place to work. Great lawyers, wonderful staff support, good clients and interesting work. Can always find someone to help out for a client in an area that I have no expertise in the same manner as I would treat the client. Good, thoughtful leadership makes for a good working environment.

Cons:

Frankly, there are not any. I have been here for many years, though many changes in leadership and while there are probably no perfect jobs, the work here comes as close as one can imagine.
