1.0Former Employee, more than 1 yearMentally taxingLitigation Paralegal in New York, NYRecommendProsYou will learn a lot but at the cost of being overworked, unappreciated and under paid.ConsThe firm heavily monitors everything you do on the computer and keeps track of what youre doing every second of the day. They track your phone call history and everyday activity like a hawk. The job will make you feel like youre always behind on work when in reality there is just too much work for one person to handle. If you dont work through lunch or overtime you will fall behind and the firm will call you out on that. Low pay but you make up for it by having to do so much overtime. Not a job for someone with other commitments as you will spend all your time working. You can be the perfect employee but they will forget all of your hard work if you make a mistake. Mentally tolling and anxiety inducing.Advice to ManagementHire more employees, stop micromanaging, stop pushing work onto other people. Learn to appreciate your employees. Many great employees left out of frustration with how the firm operates and treats their employees. Quitting was a relief.
5.Former Employee, more than 1 yearParalegal- Mass TortsMay 15, 2017 - Paralegal- Mass Torts RecommendProsThe managment and attorneys are extremely supportive to the staff. I worked full time while with the company while I completed law school. Anytime I had a question it was answered clearly and I was always given whatever I needed to do my job better. Additionally I believe the firm fosters an opportunity for growth for all of its team members and pays attention to each persons professional goals. The job is intense as the firm is extremely successful, and with that comes a busy environment. But, I'd rather have a lot on my plate than sit there waiting for work to come through the door any day. The firm also provides generous benefits and yearly bonus based on overall individual performance. They actually have a conversation with you about what you are doing well and what you could improve upon. It is a great place for people that enjoy working independently while still having the support of team and structure when needed.ConsThere is some delay in getting new information (about new protocals, ect)to all team members at the same time.Advice to ManagementThank you for understanding that all people have different skills they bring to the table, and for respecting those differences. Please continue to recognize there are several factors involved when evaluating what makes a 'good' employee.
Micromanagement with low pay No salary growth Overwhelming workload with blame placed on employees Allowance of hate speech and discrimination Toxic and gossip-filled environment Management ignores negative employee treatment.
Thank you.
