5.Current Employee, less than 1 yearAs a Law Clerk I gained a substantial amount of experience.Law Clerk in Woodbury, NYRecommendProsPerpetual amount of substantively interesting and challenging work.Opportunity to take on significant responsibility by accepting difficult assignments. As open-door as open-door gets. Collegiate atmosphere where everyone wants to help you learn.Excellent people to work with- from the attorneys to the secretaries. There is no other firm that could feel more like a family. As a first year law clerk (rising 2L), I got to work on a federal brief. Not many law firms provide such experiences.ConsThe only thing negative about the firm for me is its location in Long Island, which obviously isn't necessarily a con because many people would prefer this commute.Compensation, although very generous for a Long Island firm of its size, is low compared to the average mid law/ big law salary in NYC. Again, this isn't necessarily a con, because the firm is a small firm in Long Island. Finally, as a law clerk, there doesn't seem like there is an opportunity to be hired as an attorney because the firm just relocated and all the offices are occupied by attorneys. Again, this isn't necessarily a con.Advice to ManagementKeep doing exactly what you're doing. I look forward to work every day!
Thank you.
