Senior Director, Intellectual Property Counsel at Invivyd (View all jobs) Waltham, MA/Northeast Preferred Invivyd is seeking a Senior Director, Intellectual Property Counsel to lead the company’s IP efforts and drive the development of antibody-based therapies to protect vulnerable populations from viral threats. This is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven team and make a significant impact on public health. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement global IP strategies in collaboration with leadership team and external counsel - Build and maintain a strong intellectual property portfolio to support R&D, manufacturing, and commercialization efforts - Serve as a strategic partner and thought leader for IP issues in discovery, research, manufacturing, and commercialization - Supervise and support outside patent counsel in drafting, prosecuting, and managing global patent portfolio - Review and analyze third party intellectual property and provide counsel to internal teams - Review and analyze intellectual property aspects of technical manuscripts, promotional materials, and other materials intended for publication - Assist with IP due diligence and agreement review and negotiation for investment, M&A, and partnering activities - Collaborate with leadership team to summarize and communicate IP strategy/status with Board and external stakeholders - Identify training needs and develop training materials on relevant IP laws and business issues - Assist with developing company-wide IP policies and procedures - Keep abreast of legal trends, laws, and regulations related to the company's business activities - Provide litigation support, including validity and non-infringement analysis - Work collaboratively with Legal and Compliance team to provide comprehensive legal advice and business support - Manage legal resources to complete projects in a timely and high-quality manner Requirements: - . from accredited law school, with advanced scientific degree preferred - Admitted to practice before US Patent and Trademark Office and state of residence, with ability to obtain Massachusetts in-house counsel registration - 10+ years of relevant IP experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry, with experience in reputable law firm and in-house preferred - Previous experience and understanding of biologic therapeutic patents, with experience in Infectious Diseases preferred - Demonstrated experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications and leading global IP strategy and portfolio management - Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly - Commitment to integrity and ethical conduct, with ability to handle confidential information - Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making abilities - Ability to work independently and in a team environment - Ability to periodically travel At Invivyd, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all employees.
