Summary:
Capital One is seeking a Sr. Manager, Sr. Counsel to join their Legal Department and provide expertise in privacy and data protection. This role will involve collaborating with various teams across the company and advising on legal issues related to privacy laws, emerging technologies, and business-critical initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and at least 4 years of experience in a law firm, government agency, or as in-house counsel.

Experience Information:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
- At least 4 years of experience in a law firm, at a government agency, or as in-house counsel

Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on privacy and data protection issues
- Assist business, compliance, risk, and legal partners in identifying privacy issues
- Support partners in building technical and organizational controls
- Collaborate with outside counsel, monitor legal developments and industry trends
- Develop training and educational materials

Basic Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
- At least 4 years of experience in a law firm, at a government agency, or as in-house counsel

Preferred Qualifications:
- A background in privacy law, regulatory counseling, and/or consumer financial services
- Familiarity with specific privacy laws such as GLBA, CCPA, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, HIPAA, GDPR
- Experience applying law to new technologies related to online advertising, email marketing, and financial technologies
