A law firm is currently seeking a Litigation Attorney with expertise in banking law to join their team in Rockford, IL. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for handling legal matters related to banking law, representing financial institutions and clients in various litigation scenarios. The ideal candidate should possess a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and hold an active State of Illinois Law license in good standing. The candidate should have 3-7 years of experience in banking law.

Duties:

• Represent financial institutions and clients in banking law cases, including disputes, regulatory matters, and financial litigation.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research to stay informed about banking regulations and industry practices.
• Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements, for banking law cases.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on banking-related issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external counsel, and regulatory bodies in the resolution of banking disputes.
• Attend court hearings, arbitrations, and negotiations as required.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active State of Illinois Law license in good standing.
• 3-7 years of experience in banking law.
• In-depth knowledge of banking regulations, financial laws, and industry standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
