Detroit office of our client seeks a senior attorney with 5 years of legal experience, preferably practicing in an administrative forum in the field of energy or public utility law/regulation. The candidate provides legal services in matters with some complexity and sensitivity, calling on a significant breadth of knowledge and depth of experience in one or more areas of the following: administrative, energy, or regulatory. Has a broad business perspective and applies this perspective to legal analysis and solutions to meet objectives. Leads others in plans and execution and can lead teams or coordinate with other areas to provide legal services. May be called to represent the interests of the company in any number of formal or informal legal proceedings, including federal, state, or local judicial or alternative dispute resolution processes. Accepts increasingly complex or sensitive legal projects and sees that they are effectively resolved in an efficient manner. May research legal principles and precedents, consult with outside counsel, draft and execute legal documents, gather relevant information using multiple sources and methods, provide work guidance to other professionals or paraprofessionals, and support staff to develop solutions to business problems. Works with minimum legal supervision and collaboratively with all levels of internal clients. Must be admitted to the Bar in the state of residence.
